The Chalkguy · Corporate and conference

For the room that has already seen every speaker.

Ben Glenn has been on stage professionally since 1995, in front of arenas of 70,000 people and boardrooms of thirty. Most of the corporate world knows him by the name he has worked under for three decades: The Chalkguy.

The format is simple and nobody forgets it. Ben speaks. Then the talking stops, the music comes up, and a six-by-eight-foot painting is created live in front of the room. Where the venue allows, a light show brings the finished piece to life at the reveal.

Think Different. Achieve Different

You cannot create something different by thinking exactly the way you always have.

Ben challenges leaders to get out of the rut of "this is how we've always done it" and rediscover the creativity, curiosity, and courage that great leadership requires.

  • Leadership retreats, planning days, sales meetings
  • Opening or closing keynote for a multi-day conference
  • Includes the live art experience
45–90 min
Entertainment

Just the art, no speech

The live art experience can stand completely on its own, with no keynote and no introduction.

In roughly 15 to 25 minutes a blank canvas becomes a finished work of art while powerful music drives the moment. It opens a general session, closes an awards night, or becomes the moment people talk about in the lobby afterward.

  • Awards banquets and galas
  • General session opener or closer
  • The finished piece stays with you

LEGO Leadership Workshop

Leadership gets a lot more interesting when everybody has a pile of bricks in front of them.

Teams build their way through creative problem solving, collaboration, adaptability and communication, then talk through what just happened and why. It's fun, but there is purpose behind every brick.

  • Leadership teams, departments and retreats
  • Works alone or as the afternoon half of a meeting day
90 min

For agents and planners

Working with a speakers bureau?

Most of Ben's corporate and conference dates come through bureaus, and that is a good thing. If you are already working with one, have them reach out and Ben's office will take it from there. Nothing about finding this page changes that relationship.

Bureaus: one-sheets, high-resolution photography, video, program descriptions and availability are all on request. Email is the fastest route.

What the room needs

The live art has a short list of requirements: space, staging, sound, lighting, and one simple frame built ahead of time. It is all written out for planners, with the parts list and the room dimensions.

A note on where Ben spends his year

Schools and students are the heart of the work now, and most of the calendar goes there. Corporate and conference dates are still very much open, and the show is the same one that has been filling arenas for thirty years.

Send the date and the city.

That is enough to get an answer on availability. Rough details are fine, and you will hear back from Ben's office rather than a call center.
